Nature of the Service

This private reference site is independent of every government office. It stores no official jail, court, or release records and cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or file a request or court paper for a visitor.

The site points to Jackson County and West Virginia records resources and may connect visitors with outside research tools. Any official answer comes from the agency that created or maintains the record.

Acceptable Use Rules

Access is conditioned on lawful, respectful use. A visitor must not:

• violate a law while using the site;
• use information to stalk, threaten, or harass someone;
• base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on site content;
• seek access to a system or account without permission;
• run bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools; or
• interfere with site access for another visitor.

Your Duty to Indemnify

A user agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees caused by that user's conduct, use of the service, or violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Site text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Jackson County Released Inmates or the applicable content partner. They may not be copied, distributed, republished, or changed without prior written permission, except where law expressly permits the use.

Suspension or Loss of Access

West Virginia Law Applies

These terms are governed by the laws of West Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction within West Virginia.

If One Term Is Invalid

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in effect. The affected provision will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it lawful and enforceable.
